Ahumada Jr. lands on podium during USMTS All-American at Arrowhead Speedway

Carlos Ahumada Jr. climbed back aboard his Hacienda Motorsports No. 65x machine at Arrowhead Speedway (Colcord, Oklahoma) on Thursday evening to commence three days of racing with the Summit United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS).

He was among 55 USMTS competitors filling the pit area as the inaugural ARMI Contractors All-American kicked off at the 1/3-mile track with a $3,000-to-win show.

Ahumada clocked the quickest time in his group during qualifying and drove from sixth to second in his heat. He then started on the front row in the night’s 35-lap feature and remained near the front throughout the race. He came home in the third position, following Jason Hughes and Jake Timm across the start-finish line. Tyler Wolff and Gabe Hodges rounded out the top five.

On Friday, the USMTS field increased to 58 Modifieds as the first-place payout rose to $5,000. Ahumada finished second in both his heat and B-Feature, starting him 21st in the night’s 40-lap finale. He registered a 22nd-place result.

The All-American concluded with a $20,023-to-win program on Saturday, bringing 55 USMTS Modifieds to the track. Ahumada finished fourth in his heat and won his “B,” positioning him 16th on the grid for the 50-lap main event. He marched forward eight spots to claim an eighth-place result, his second top-10 finish of the weekend.

Ahumada currently occupies the 14th position in the USMTS National standings.
